ChadTape
ChadTape: Public Trade Data
ChadTape shows NFT trades together with the wallet addresses that made them. This information is public on blockchains and NFT marketplaces; We read it from there and do not collect it from You.
From those public trades the Service calculates figures that it shows for a wallet, such as profit and loss on completed trades, rankings and a reputation mark. Reputation is worked out from the daily ranking results of about the last 14 days.
ChadTape shows a wallet as its shortened address, with the display name its owner chose, if any.
ChadTape: What You Post
Takes and replies are public. We store the text (up to 280 characters), Your wallet address, the time and, where the Service attaches it, Your position in the collection concerned as calculated from public trades. A take and its replies are deleted automatically about 3 days after the take was posted (the period can be set between 1 and 7 days), and You can delete Your own sooner.
A display name is public and is stored with Your wallet address. It is released when You clear it, or automatically when the wallet has not been active on ChadTape for about 90 days. A released name stays reserved for its last owner for up to 9 days.
A clan's name, its tag and the wallet addresses of its members are public. A clan whose members make no trade that appears on ChadTape for about 30 days is disbanded automatically.
Reactions are shown as totals. So that a wallet is counted once, We keep a short record made of the first 10 characters of the wallet address and the item reacted to: for about a day for a trade or a news item, and for the life of a take. Totals are kept for about as long as takes are.
ChadTape: Follows and Preferences
If You are not signed in, the traders and collections You follow and Your ChadTape settings are kept only in Your browser.
If You are signed in, We also keep on Our servers, under Your wallet address: the list of traders and collections You follow (up to 500), so that follower totals can be shown and Your list is there on Your other devices; and one small settings record (at most 2 KB) with Your tape choices, such as filters, chains, layout, whether names and clan tags are shown, and the wallets You muted.
Follower totals are public. The Service does not show Your follow list to other users. If You choose to let a trader know that You followed them, that trader can see Your wallet address in their activity list for up to 7 days.
Both records are deleted after about 90 days in which the wallet was not active on ChadTape; the follow list of a wallet that has never traded on ChadTape's feed is deleted after about 14 days. If storage runs short, these periods are shortened step by step (to no less than 30 days for follow lists, 3 days for wallets that have never traded, and 7 days for settings). Unfollowing removes a follow at once.
ChadTape: Direct Messages
A direct message is sent from one wallet to another. We store it on Our servers so that it can be delivered, and the Service shows it only to the two wallets concerned, after sign-in. Direct messages are not end-to-end encrypted: they are stored in a form that the Company's systems, and the people who run them, are technically able to read.
A message can have up to 500 characters. The sender can delete a message, which removes it for both wallets; the recipient can hide a message from their own view. A message is deleted automatically 30 days after it was sent or, if that is later, 30 days after the recipient first read it.
If the recipient has turned on notifications, the Service sends them a notification with the sender's shortened address and a preview of the message (up to 80 characters) through the notification channel they connected. That channel is run by a third party and handles the notification under its own terms.
To limit spam, We keep for 2 days a record of the new conversations a wallet started on a day, and a count of the new conversations started from a network address (IP address) on that day; the address count names no wallet. Your message settings — direct messages on or off, and the wallets You muted or blocked — are kept until You change them.
ChadTape: Shared Links and Cards
When You share a moment from ChadTape, Our server builds the card's content and signs it: public trade data such as the collection, the price, the time and a shortened wallet address, or the first 140 characters of a take with its author's shortened address.
A long link carries that content in the link itself, and nothing is stored on Our servers for it. A short link stores the same content on Our servers under a short code; it is deleted between 30 and 37 days after the moment it shows. Because a shared card is a copy, it can stay visible after the take or trade it shows has left ChadTape. The stored link does not say who created it.
ChadTape: Reports and Moderation
When You report a take, a wallet or a clan, We keep the report for up to 14 days: what was reported, the reason You chose, an excerpt of the reported text (up to 140 characters) and the wallet addresses of up to 5 reporting wallets. Further reporters are kept only as a short code used to count each reporter once. Reports are visible to Our moderators only.
Moderators' actions are logged (which moderator, what was done, to what, and when) for up to 90 days. A ban on a wallet and a hidden name or clan are kept for as long as they apply.
ChadTape: News from X
The News tab shows posts from the public X accounts of NFT collections. We keep a post for about 3 days. Pictures in a post are loaded by Your browser directly from X's image servers, which can therefore see Your network address, as with any website You visit. Following a link in a post takes You to X or to another website, where that site's own policy applies.
ChadTape: Usage Counts
To know how many people use the Service, We count distinct visitors (by network address) and distinct signed-in wallets, per minute and per day. The counts are kept in a form that yields a total and cannot be read back as a list of addresses or wallets. Per-minute counts are kept for about 2 hours and daily counts for about 40 days. We do not build a profile of an individual visitor or wallet from them.
ChadTape: Hiding a Wallet
You can ask for Your wallet to be hidden from ChadTape. Hiding a wallet from ChadTape does not remove anything from a blockchain or from a marketplace, where the same trades remain public.
ChadTape: What Stays in Your Browser
ChadTape keeps some things only in Your browser's storage: Your follows, Your settings and the wallets You muted while You are not signed in, the tips You have dismissed, and what the "For You" feed has learned from what You open, follow and react to. Clearing Your browser's site data removes them.
Children's Privacy
Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If You are a parent or guardian and You are aware that Your child has provided Us with Personal Data, please contact Us.
